E∙PRO Engineering’s utility roots run deep. E∙PRO Engineering was a startup company in the 1990’s as part of the unregulated arm of a major investor-owned utility in Maine. Many original E∙PRO products such as design drawings, studies, and reports are still active documentation in many current utilities. Today, E∙PRO Engineering LLC is certified as a Women's Business Enterprise (WBE) through the Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC). The owners, two of which were part of the original E∙PRO management team, have over 100 years of collective experience in the utility and telecommunications industries. As a result, their extensive knowledge and expertise help clients achieve their goals successfully and efficiently.

MEET THE OWNERS

President

Kelly A. Pickering-Elias, MBA

Kelly has over 20 years of experience in business and human resources management within the municipal and telecommunications industries. Her qualifications and experience include office and project management, accounting, payroll, budget management, and administrator functions.

Kelly's HR experience includes human resources management, employee relations, benefits and compensation administration, performance management, recruitment & selection, employee communications, health/safety, and training. Managed HR compliance to include Affirmative Action Plans, EEOC, and regulatory filings.

Kelly is a member of SHRM.

Vice President

Paul R. Elkin, PE

Paul has 35 years of experience in electrical power system engineering, consulting, and consulting business operations. His qualifications include extensive engineering and commissioning experience on a variety of generation, substation, and transmission protection and control systems.

Paul's background includes projects for utilities in the U.S., Canada, and the Caribbean. In a national engineering consulting company, he served as Senior Vice President of Substation Engineering with more than 350 technical staff in the United States and Canada and as Chief Technical Officer of the Power Delivery Engineering group.

Paul is an active member of the IEEE Power System Relay Committee that develops international standards and recommended practices for the protection of power system equipment.

Vice President

Kerry L. Spurling, PE

Kerry has over 40 years of progressive experience in power system engineering, project management, and engineering management. His qualifications include power system planning, utility systems, protection and controls engineering, power system analysis and operations. He has owned and operated several businesses from initial startup to maturity.

Kerry's background includes extensive power system studies, real time power system security analysis, substation and generation controls automation, and project management. He has managed all aspects of utility engineering, design, and consulting as a utility employee and as an engineering consultant.
